Cover Art - Grimdark Worlds

Couple months ago, began doing concept art for a series of Grimdark novels for a few friends. This is the result. I love the older mythologies and being able to turn them toward a dark fantastic mode that connects to these traditions without being burdened with all the current muddle of lore. The Grimdark vision is dark, gritty, and nihilistic where amoral characters run rogue in realms of strange forces that unlike high fantasy have no clear-cut markers between good and evil. It's a world of grey toned shades of evil and good where people muddle through the best they can without any overarching religious, philosophical or political guidance. It's for the most part our current world in ruins among the dust heap of ancient thought and civilizations slowly decaying and dying into something unrecognizable.
